My main focus is giving a record what I think it needs. Sometimes that’s stepping in at the end to bring everything together and hit in a final mix, espescially for bands who record themselves and want someone who will care about the record with a producer-minded ear throuugh the finish line.
Other times it’s building and shaping the songs from start to finish in my personal studio, combing through every detail of writing, tone and performance, demo to master.
Whatever my involvement, the goal isn’t polish for the sake of it. It’s making the record feel the way it’s supposed to.
