Produced / Mixed / Recorded with the band
I’m Nick Starrantino. I produce, mix and master music at Deadend Studio on Long Island, NY.
I like to make music that feels energetic, alive and spills out of the speakers. Whether the song is slow, fast, quiet or loud, I want to make it hit the listener the way they should.

I offer full production at Deadend Studio, remote mixing and mastering. Tell me what you’re working on and I’ll help you figure out what you need.
I work on song choice, pre-production and arrangements, as well as deep diving into tones and the way things are played. The creative decisions that add up and turn a pile of parts into a fully molded record. Shaping things as we go to puts me in the best position to get the best final mix.
Talk production ↗Remote mixing for songs you’ve already recorded. I use my producers ear to focus on feeling and impact while diving deep into sonic details to make sure it spills out of the speakers both emotionally and technically.
Ask about mixing ↗I master your finished mixes, checking EQ curve, level and consistency across the songs, making sure they fit together as a cohesive release.
Ask about mastering ↗Big guitars, quiet moments, imperfect edges, and the right amount of space. Every choice should serve the song, whether it is loud and urgent or bare and intimate.
The small decisions are the record.
I grew up in a musical family, starting on drums before picking up guitar, bass and piano. After playing in Long Island band Love, Robot, I realized I cared more about snare choices, guitar tones, arrangements and delay trails than I did about being on stage.
I started at VuDu Studios as an intern and eventually became an engineer working under producer Mike Watts. I assisted on sessions involving Glassjaw, Hail the Sun, The Dillinger Escape Plan and O’Brother, and engineered on Stolas’ self-titled Equal Vision release.
Today I work from Deadend Studio on Long Island, producing artists including Summerbruise and Dear Maryanne and mixing remotely for bands including The Republic of Wolves and SAMSARA.
Deadend Studio is my home base on Long Island for recording and full production. It’s a space to work through arrangements, experiment with sounds and spend real time making a record.
For longer projects like EP’s and Albums, bands are welcome to crash at the studio.
