Deadend Studio is my recording studio on Long Island, NY, designed for long sessions, deep focus and getting completely lost in making a record. Bands are welcome to crash here for as long as we need, turning the process into a creative retreat. No clock watching, no distractions, just the record in front of us. (and really good cold brew from the Sayville Bean)
The space is set up around my hybrid work-flow, a mix of analog character and digital efficiency. Every mix runs through carefully chosen outboard gear and summing, blended with a speedy in-the-box workflow to keep the best of both worlds.
Character, punch, and recall.
I try to keep the studio wired up and ready to go so when inspiration hits, we can chase it without losing momentum. But still maintaining the freedom to break the rules at any time and follow whatever weird path we want to go down, keeping the story of the session alive. Whether that’s reamping drums through an amp in the bathroom or recording a room mic on literally every track.
